New to Raspberry Pi? Raspberry Pi is a low-cost, tinkering-focused, programmable, hackable computer based on ARM architecture, just like the processor on phones, but it is open source and has a large community of hackers, developers, tinkerers, and geeks. It can be used for networking, browsing, productivity, hacking, and much more. Check the Raspberry Pi website for more info (raspberrypi.com/for-home

The Hackberry Pi CM5 is a powerful handheld cyberdeck built around the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5)—designed for enthusiasts, makers, and hackers who demand both performance and style in a compact form factor.

⚠️ Important Notes Before Purchase:
**Raspberry Pi CM5 NOT included in barebones option.** You must purchase and assemble it yourself.

⚠️ We strongly recommend using the CM5 Lite (without eMMC) version. The eMMC version lacks a microSD pinout and requires flashing the OS using an external adapter!

Please read the documentation on GitHub/carboncomputers carefully before purchasing:
The barebones model requires Assembly. Follow the included assembly guidelines closely.

Slouch coding is my jam

The magsafe ring on the back didn't seem relevant until i realized a had a Pop-Socket I wasn't using. That changed everything! This handheld computer is a little hefty but it's a lot packed in a small space and the Pop-Socket makes it much easier to hold for long couch coding vibe sessions.
Add a remote keyboard/mouse dongle and the device can plug into a TV with HDMI for an instant media center. The Blackberry keyboard is quirky but plugging in a real keyboard let me get my initial configuration done quickly. You won't be using vim or emacs with the built-in keyboard.
Currently I'm using mine to vibe with Claude Code. I can hotspot with my phone and keep hacking with cloud-based LLMs, anywhere. Running a local LLM for agentic coding is unrealistic on a the Pi CM5 (even with 16gb of ram); the CPU gets hot enough to burn before anything actually gets done.
The empty M.2 expansion slot still has me pondering between an AI or a drive module. Reddit users share that the AI module(s) available are primarily for vision workflows not coding LLMs. Adapters exist that allow connecting to a desktop graphics card (looking at you, old GTX1070) but that is not a mobile configuration.
The device ships in a perfect-sized zippered shell with extra screws and hex wrenches included. Device booted into a working Kali distro on the SD card out of the box.
Overall I love the look of the device and its build quality. Would recommend!

The unit itself is amazing

The unit itself is amazing, professional quality.. I will upgrade to a UConsole soon...
The cyberPunk case quality was horrible, unfinished and layers of the infill was seen through the case itself...I'm still waiting on a replacement case.. I bet is going to take even longer to receive a 15 dollar case..

Happy hacker

I got this off carbon computers and it was very nicely packaged, the device itself absolutely gorgeous, everything works no issues has for about 2-3 weeks now, the team was very helpful. It's honestly insane how far we have come with tech and carbon computers looks like they got the good stuff
